Colin - glad to hear you're a fan of Dahl. I thought that he really challenged children in his writing which was good. I haven't read any of the horror stories just remember the television show - with the naked dancing woman intro. The one with the leg of lamb certainly shows the power of a brilliantly set up end.

I learned Roald Dahl backwards. I read his horror stories in my teenage years and I am reading his kids book with my kids now. He is fantastic. Thanks for the link to Monstropedia.

I always remember the story about the murder of the husband using a frozen leg of lamb that is cooking in the oven when the detectives arrive.
